Digital Marketing Is Stronger Than Ever During The COVID-19 Pandemic.

Updated: Jun 28

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to normalize many new behaviors. Using sanitizer and facemasks and practicing social distancing has become what many refer to as a 'new normal'. It has also impacted how people interact with brands on the internet – and that is why digital marketing is a powerful tool to have in your arsenal in our new normal.

As the global economy is slowly recovering from the impact of COVID-19, businesses are shifting strategies. Many businesses are adopting different marketing strategies to adjust to a new consumer model. Various successful businesses have invested in online marketing during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to do so.

As Warren Buffet once famously quoted:

"BE FEARFUL WHEN OTHERS ARE GREEDY, AND GREEDY WHEN OTHERS ARE FEARFUL."

With more people working from home, consumers are relying on the internet more than ever. Many spend up to 7 hours a day using the internet on their mobile devices, desktops, and laptops combined. That is nearly the same amount of time as an entire workday.

Nearly two-thirds of the world's internet users use the internet to find information. Similarly, just under half of the global internet users research products and brands online. These individuals are out there, actively looking for your products. Are you making use of this? Do you have your marketing content where these potential clients can find you?

If you are realistic with yourself, the question should not be whether you should invest in online marketing. Instead, it should be: How can you harness your digital marketing efforts even better? All we can say is -While it is still time for social distancing, it is also time to harness the power of online marketing.

Key to Successful Online Branding Building Trust and Rapport

Life is gradually returning to a kind of normal – but people have changed. How they interact with information and brands on the internet has changed. Consumers are more budget-conscious, but they are also seeking out informational content. Businesses that offer this information build rapport – and people buy from brands that they trust. Consumers have spent a considerable amount of time in isolation at home. There seems to be a shift in consciousness. Consumers are moving towards looking for products or services that are both valuable and in line with their values. Online marketing helps you connect with consumers by providing them valuable information and showing them how you align with their values.

Searches for local service providers are increasing as people are moving back into the real world. The pandemic has raised individuals' interest in their local communities. They have come to value local suppliers and small businesses more ever. People are looking for local businesses – and they are doing it via the internet.

Businesses that continued their marketing efforts during the height of the pandemic already have an established presence. They may already be seeing a greater return on investment. Continued online marketing efforts are crucial to creating a presence and authority in your field. It helps you meet people where they spend a considerable amount of time and bring them to where you want them to be: on your sales page or in your brick-and-mortar store.
